hang on. did she actually go on stage like that, or did half her

never wanted to see that.

She had snap-away panels on her vinyl corset top and Justin Timberlake
pulled the bra cup off at the end of the performance revealing her
entire boob, pierced nipple and nipple shield.

Her agent called it an "embarrassing costume malfunction". It was broadcast
live, apparently.

an unfortunate nippular incident, i'd say.

it's leading to some pretty funny things here, though - a square
friend of mine working at state farm has emailed me asking whether it's
a pastie or a piercing or what the hell. apparently the entire office
has been in discussion & he was the only one with a "professional source
on bodyart". heh.

the news commercials here are showing justin tearing away the
panel. she seemed pretty shocked to me... but, uh, if you didn't expect
that to happen, why was part of your costume snap-on when it could very
easily have been sewn securely into place? & for that matter, who wears
a rather bulky nipple shield under *vinyl* if they're not expecting it
to be seen?

Pfffhahahahah!

Over here, not only are there boobs on public display (ads, both TV and
print), I think there's still a giant billboard with a woman in a corset
on one of the main downtown intersections, and there's an ad for some
strong licorice featuring a woman in a vinyl corset (the slogan says
"extreme") all over the place.

Underwear ads featuring Anna Nicole Smith a few years back reportedly
caused a number of traffic accidents :D.

Yeah. Curtis James is my name, so it's always amusing when anyone uses
_Curtis_ as some (my perception, of course, of their intent) kind of
dig. Not you. You were simply reciting a name on a label.

The basket of pansies and the teddy bears? A special treat for you,
lish. The designs are courtesy of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
(teddy bear) and American Diabetes Association (pansies). They sent
'em. I didn't request a specific design.

I donate to a few charitable dealies and, sometimes, they send labels
as either a thank you or as an incentive for continued donations.

In my stationery folder-thing, there're also snowmen, wreaths,
Christmas stockings, gift boxes, snowflakes and some autumn images -
Jack O'Lanterns, fall leaves, gourds, and pine cones from the Leukemia
Society; plus tiny and assorted flag designs, ladybugs, butterflies,
flowers, and a big letter J from the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans
Association.

There's a sheet of kickass and rippling-in-the-wind American flag
stickers from the VFW, too. But, I predicted, apparently correctly,
that you'd mention the flowers and the teddy.

So, what the fuck, man? :)

DO ENCOURAGE ME MORE! :p

one of Ted Koppel's guests on Nightline brought up an interesting
point: super bowl parties are often centered around beer,
belching, farting, potty humour, girls in bikinis, etc, and that
people shouldn't get so offended by this Janet thing.

i really couldn't care less. it's about time American TV caught

I am no nipple pierce expert, but looking at the closeup
photos and knowing what little I know. It does indeed look
like a Gauntlet Sun (Ra) or Star Burst shield with the
center open with nipple exposed and the shield held in
place with a barbell nipple piercing. Great work of art in
my book. But if the star burst was not glued down, she was
very lucky the ripping material did not caught a flame tip
and rip MORE away. Scary. I was curious about if she had
the other nipple pierced in similar fashion.
This is unusual jewelry to be found on a high profile
actress and in a setting where extreme dancing and movement
will occur. Yes, she was lucky more damage was not done.
Bye the way, the close-up seems to indicate that Janet has
indeed had a child in the past, I am not aware of that?
Does she have children? Intentional (or NOT), this one
second exposure and resulting picture may become one of the
most viewed pictures in history of Internet media before
it's over with. Plus, it takes some heat off her brother

I think he's referring to her nipples, which are standard issue black-woman
nipples and show similar characteristics to post-childbirth nipples.

NO --- they are not standard issue breast nipples.

Every breast and every nipple and every dark area
(areola) around the nipple vary somewhat from male
to male and female to female.

Correct me - but from viewing OTHER nude black
females (in magazines) I find some with smooth
areola and some with hashed areola - which in my
books suggest a conception at one time - of course,
the baby could have been aborted or something.

I am not sure what these hash marks or bumps are
actually called ... any suggestions.

Not sure that that's even true. There are many nipples that are
similar as well. You're not "reading" the right magazines,

They're called Montgomery's glands (or tubules). They contain sweat
and sebaceous glands to help lubricate the nipple during
breastfeeding. The Montgomery's tubules changing is one of the first
symptoms of pregnancy; they turn darker and become more pronounced as
a result of hormones. They are quite normal and are NOT an indication
of whether a woman has had an abortion.

I just wanted to clear something up. I have never, ever
said Janet Jackson had an abortion. I said, from viewing
the close up of her expose breast, that her tubules (or
whatever) seemed to indicate she has been pregnant at some
point in the past. And that I was not aware that she had
any children - hope that cleared that up.

I would indeed like to think the "uncovering" of her
beautiful breast was an accident, but for it to be so
adorned under all that clothing is very unusual. And for
a rapid dance routine as well...

The star points are bent back against the breast; the shield is not flat.
I've seen those shields for sale lots of places, they don't seem unusual to
me. I doubt they're even Gauntlet, think Janet Jackson has had her nipples
pierced that long and has enough taste to go for a name brand jewelry maker?
